Fraunhofer IOSB-INA in Lemgo is presenting the demonstrator “KI-sy-Twin – The AI-generated digital twin” at the Hannover Messe trade fair. Using a closed water cycle, it will demonstrate how AI automatically evaluates heterogeneous plant documentation from brownfield plants, generates administration shells in accordance with Industry 4.0 standards, and uses them to create a digital twin including a 3D model. This creates a uniform database and accelerated processes for planning, operation, modernization, and device replacement – while maintaining data sovereignty through data room connectors and secure IT/OT networking with NOA Security Gateway and industrial edge and cloud solutions.

At Hannover Messe 2026, Fraunhofer and partners will be presenting a live demonstration of automated, AAS-based digital product passports (DPP) and capability descriptions in a federated manufacturing-as-a-service (MaaS) ecosystem at the KETI exhibit (Baden-Württemberg International, Hall 14, Booth J40). A networked micro-factory with a MIR250 robot, automatic tool changer, and sensor-integrated LED cube will be used to demonstrate an end-to-end process from capability matchmaking and data-driven quality assurance to CO₂e-based partner selection – including a digital twin registry, AAS server, and Factory-X EDC for interoperable data rooms.
