At Fraunhofer, we invent the future - as the largest research organization for application-oriented research in Europe. Fraunhofer IOSB-INA in Lemgo offers committed employees exciting tasks with a lot of responsibility and creative freedom. Our mission is: "Empowering our Partners for the Digital Age".

On behalf of our customers from the various sectors of business and government, we apply the latest findings from science and application to concrete projects in an interdisciplinary manner. We are one of the leading research institutions in the technology network "Intelligent Technical Systems Ostwestfalen-Lippe it's OWL".

Visual Light in production

WLAN is being used more and more today. However, industrial users shy away from its use because the radio channel does not allow an unlimited number of users and is subject to many interferences. In our project, we are investigating possibilities to modulate the light of LEDs in such a way that industrially suitable wireless communication is created.

Definition of the scope of duties:

Within this framework, the task is to develop a mechanical system using additive manufacturing processes ("3D printing", FDM). The aim is to create a modular platform that is characterized by high robustness, easy disassembly, expandability, low weight and complies with selected DIN standards for lighting technology.

Electrical development:

  • Concept
  • Model creation with Autodesk Fusion
  • Opt. simulation and thermal management
